Since 1963, Lalor Secondary College, a Year 7 – 12 co-educational school has the communities of Lalor, Thomastown and Epping. The college is located in a residential area north of Melbourne in the City of Whittlesea. It is set of four acres of land, with well-maintained grounds which include grassed, asphalted and shaded areas, as well as a number of synthetic sporting surfaces. The College is located in close proximity to RMIT, La Trobe University and NMIT.
Our learning programs are enriched by drawing on the range and number of cultures and backgrounds represented amongst the students. Student achievement and engagement is similar to like group schools and retention is high. The size of the VCE cohort in recent years has limited the breadth of subject offerings at the senior level, however the significant increase in enrolments will see more subject and pathway options available to students in the next few years.
Lalor Secondary College is committed to continuous improvement in order to prepare and develop students for the future. The College provides a caring and supportive learning environment with a curriculum that prepares students for life in a global world.
The College has excellent facilities which include a drama centre, two newly upgraded and refurbished food technology rooms, a gymnasium and sporting facilities including basketball/netball courts, 2 large synthetic sports fields (accommodate hockey, soccer, tennis) and a football oval. The school facilities will be further enhanced with the building of a Science Centre funded through the federal BER program.
