West Greenwood Primary School, located in the northern suburb of Greenwood, is approximately seventeen kilometres from the central city of Perth. The school was established in the seventies and is conveniently located adjacent to the Mitchell Freeway, Joondalup rail line and next door to Greenwood College with whom the school shares close links. An increasing number of people are seeking housing in Greenwood, which is a well established garden suburb offering a wide range of facilities including shopping centres, parks, public transport, an excellent public high school, many churches and community organisations.

The school sits within natural gardens and gum trees and the buildings are surrounded by an attractive parkland setting. Covered walkways provide shelter between the buildings which are all air conditioned. The school has specialist areas for media, art/craft, science and music/drama. Specialist teaching programs are provided in music, Japanese and physical education. At the north eastern boundary, the 'Help Save the Planet Club' looks after the only remnant of natural bushland in the area.
